This delicious virgin pina colada recipe is a great way to enjoy a delicious drink made with real food ingredients, without the alcohol.

I don't drink often. Maybe once or twice a year, max. But sometimes, I crave the flavor of drinks like this one.

Any drink with the word "virgin" in front of it means that it's made exactly like an alcoholic drink, but minus the alcohol.

What Is In A Virgin Pina Colada?

If you were to order one in a bar, it will have all the same traditional mixes as the regular, alcoholic version, but without the alcohol.

But when you make it at home, things change a little. Especially when your aim is using real food ingredients.

The ingredients are coconut milk, frozen pineapple and sweetener. Quick, simple and totally delicious.

What Does A Virgin Pina Colada Taste Like?

What's In A Homemade Virgin Pina Colada?

4 cups frozen pineapple chunks – Make sure you get the unsweetened pineapple. The ingredients should simple say, "pineapple" on the package.

13.5 oz. can full fat coconut milk – Make sure this is the canned variety. Do not use the stuff in the carton. Also, make sure there is no added sugar. You want the unsweetened stuff.

2 tbsp. maple syrup – Use the real stuff. If you don't have any handy, honey is a great substitute.

1-2 cups ice – I didn't use this, but if you prefer an icier texture (like what you would get in a bar), add 1 to 2 cups of ice and blend it in with everything else. Without the ice, this is more like an icy smoothie.

  • Blender

  • 4 cups frozen pineapple chunks
  • 13.5 oz. can full fat coconut milk (do not use the stuff from the refrigerator section. Must be canned)
  • 2 tbsp. maple syrup
  • 2 cups ice (optional)
  • Place all ingredients in a blender and blend.
